v0.5.02026-07-22 · The Coach Talks Back
AI coach
- New: the AI coach, a coach you can hold a real conversation with, reachable from the main screen and from the coach home. It speaks Traditional Chinese. Conversations are stored on your machine, so you can always read them back.
- The coach knows who you are from the first message — your statistics and their targets, the leak you are currently on, and how your overall play compares with your last 5,000 hands. Anything that has drifted is called out.
- The coach remembers what you talked about before. Past conversations are distilled into coach notes, and the next day it greets you where you left off.
- When you say something about your own game, the coach offers to save it to your notes. Once saved, the coach home reminds you in your own words, once a day.
- You pick the mode and the tone: venting mode or review mode, coach or railbird. Get someone to listen first, switch to the review when you are ready for it.
- The hand viewer gained "discuss this hand". You can also just say "that AKs I butchered on the button" in the chat and it will find the hand in your history.
- Every one-shot AI reply now carries a "keep talking" link, so no answer is a dead end any more.
Diagnosis and tracking
- The coach home replaces the old launch dashboard: one card you read top to bottom — what to do today, the evidence you are improving, where you stand, and a warm-up to start. The numbers sit behind "show statistics" and stay out of the way when you do not want them.
- You can see the training working: when a leak is fixed, or the one you are on closes on its target, you get the before and after — "Fold to 3-Bet: 69% → 47%". On ordinary days it does not manufacture one.
- Trend charts moved into the diagnosis cards, one per statistic, with its target band. When there is not enough history it says so, instead of drawing a fake "0.0% → 0.0%" line.
- Every statistic card carries an ⓘ explanation of what the number is and why it matters — all 17 statistic and position combinations.
- New: daily missions and streaks, plus an activity heatmap in the practice centre and your accuracy per spot over the last 7 days.
Trainers
- The WTSD trainer now covers ordinary flop and turn calls, not only all-ins.
- "Start warm-up" on the coach home drops you straight into a drill for the leak you are on; if that leak has no drill yet, it falls back to the practice centre.
Interface
- New menu bar (File / View / Coach / Help), which trims the top of the main screen down to [Coach home] [AI coach] [Import hand history] and hand search.
- Global text scaling: Ctrl+scroll between 70% and 200%, Ctrl+0 back to 100%, remembered after you close the app.
- The profit chart gained [+] [−] [Reset] buttons — zooming used to mean dragging a selection box and resetting meant a double click, with nothing on screen to say so.
Stability
- A failed database update no longer asks you to delete your data and start over. poker_stats.db is backed up and its row count verified before every update, and if one fails the app tells you where the backup is.
- Fixed a crash on closing the app.
- The AI no longer times out for thinking too long: the idle timeout went from 30 to 90 seconds and resets on every byte received. A connection that genuinely drops still aborts as before.
